Sellwood Planter | Medium | Charcoal Gray

Handmade, wheel thrown ceramic planter made with stoneware clay. Each have a drainage hole and matching drip tray. Slip of the same clay is applied to the outside of both the planter and drip tray with a hake brush to achieve a light texture after they are trimmed and then bisque fired. The inside of the planter and drip tray have a clear gloss glaze applied then are fired a second time. This allows the finished piece to showcase the brush texture while preventing moisture seepage or potential discoloration from mineral deposits on the outside from watering and fertilizing. All unglazed portions are finely sanded for a smooth tactile finish.

Each piece is meticulously made by hand one at a time. Slight variations and occasional specks of grain that are natural to the clay appear in the texture. These are details that make your purchase special and truly one of a kind.

Size details:
Planter is 4" wide at the top, 5.25" wide at the bottom and is 4.25" tall. Drip tray is 5.25" wide and .5" tall. When the planter is sitting in the drip tray, the two measure 4.5" tall. All measurements are to the nearest 1/4". Planter and drip tray together weighs about 1 lb 9 oz.

Soil marks from planting can be easily washed off with a cloth or the scrub side of a sponge. Even though the bottom is sanded smooth, it is still recommended to take care in placing the item directly on delicate surfaces like wood furniture. Both the pot and drip tray have a hand carved foot. This allows for minimal contact with your furniture's surface.
